You used to be able to watch youtube videos in your browser, but lately you’ve been seeing the message, “The following plug-in has crashed: Shockwave Flash” in a yellow bar at the top of your chrome browser window.

This is due to conflicting versions of flash on your computer, one that is built into the browser and one that was downloaded separately.

Open chrome and type about:plugins in the address bar. When the next page comes up, click the (+) sign next to Details to show the details about the plugins.

If you see two entries for flash, this could be the problem and there’s an easy fix.

All you need to do is disable the link for Chrome’s version of flash. Look at each location and choose the one with Chrome in the path and disable that instance of flash.

Now go back to youtube and watch your videos!
